Northern Producer on the move
« on: March 24, 2008, 11:30:34 PM »
Hi ,
just noticed this , Northern Producer is due to sail :-

http://www.portoftyneonline.co.uk/harbour/expected_shipping.asp

NORTHERN PRODUCER 31 Mar 2008 0:00 Sailing McNULTY Sea Cyprus CORY BROTHERS SHIPPING GCLC EST. 8720840

Is this a fake date?
normally this vessel/rig would not be in" expected shipping" on the port of tyne website, it would be in the "vessels  on berth" list with a estimated time to sail.

Hi cawky, i forgot, what did she come onto the Tyne for in the first place?
She is forecast for 0:00 so that will probably change. Just like Teesport, if the time is going to change they usually stick the ETA down a 23:59hrs.
Plus the clocks change on the 30th so that will change the ETA aswell.
Should be very interesting to see where she is off to and what will be taking her there!

Hi Brian

This happens every now and then with 'long term residents' on the Tyne. I'm sure its just a way of registering the vessels on the Movements Schedules for some reason, even though they are known not to be on the move!
For instance you will see CSO Orelia is scheduled to sail later in the schedules - I'll bet you now that she won't.

Thing about the Northern producer is that you will see if she is going to sail by the sudden appearance on the schedules of at least three Ocean Going Tugs.

Hi Steve ,
I have been looking for any big tugs/anchor handlers , but I thought it was unusual to be  on the expected list.CSO orelia should be nearly all done soon I would have thought.

Hi Brian

It has always struck me that for whatever reason the Port of Tyne Authority list what I have called 'long term residents' on what seems to be every 1/4 of the year. The likes of the Northern Producer was on the schedules at Christmas time suggesting a move in the New Year.

Not too sure about the CDO Orelia being near to completion?

Hi steve ,
took a deviation on the way home today from Washington via Hebburn Dry Dock. The CSO ORELIA looks like she is having her hull blasted / painted, she had big taupaulins hanging down her sides from what I could see , this could mean that the new bow is welded in place .Last time I had a look in January, they had the new bow in the dock bottom ready to be connected.

Hi Brian

I see the Northern Producer has now fallen off the Port of Tyne Movement Schedules but CSO Orelia is still regsistered -  suppose A&P want the Dry Dock for the Norcape.

Hi Brian

Keep an eye out on the PTA Schedules for the Ocean Going Tugs - that will be the giveaway that she is about to depart.

Hi Steve ,
as there is 4 anchors in the river off the rig she will need a anchor handler to lift them.
