Hi cawky & others:

The ESVAGT CONNECTOR seems to be the first for the job:
Esvagt Connector     24.10.2008     Petrofac / Tanker assist - N.Producer     P&C
http://www.offshore.no/Prosjekter/spotfixtures.aspx

Think they would need more vessels too. But guess we see the market situation on Monday-Tuesday.

Hi msvnordica,

very well spotted , on this site it looks like the EVASGT CONNECTOR also has another job:-

http://www.westshore.no/

There is a few pictures of the vessel on this site:-
http://www.shipspotting.com/search.php?query=ESVAGT+CONNECTOR+&action=results

and some details on the vessel:-

http://www.esvagt.dk/Default.aspx?ID=87

Does not seem that powerful for a rig tow and anchor handling by todays standards.

Vos Commander heading for the Tyne Anchorage now. Apparently nothing doing before Wednesday at least. Don't hold your breath.

Hi Cawky
Had a close look at 'Northern Producer' today as I passed her.
She has a load of scaffolding still around some of her leg structure and painting still in progress and welding.
They were testing the water cannons so I stayed clear!
She does not look if she is about to sail anytime soon at present!
Also the 'weather window' is not good at the moment to move a rig this size.

Agree with you on Evuagt Connector ,107 ton bollard pull, by todays standards very poor, even the Svitzer Matlby's bollard pull is 70 tons

Hi Richard

Looks like she could shortly be joined by ESVAGT CONNECTOR (currently in Aberdeen) and MAGNUS (currently lying off Rotterdam). From what I have read, the Northern Producer will, weather permitting be out of the Port of Tyne by the end of the month.

Hi All,

Just heard on the VHF that the earliest the rig will sail will be Wednesday.

Also just noticed this ship off the Tyne :-

Hi Brian

The ship you mention is now the    SEVEN PELICAN - see Sydney's photograph of her @ http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=746886

She is an Offshore Support Vessel and her full specs can be seen on the Subsea 7 web site @ http://www.subsea7.com/v_specs.php?page_id=v_39 - just download the pdf file.

Piers in at 12.37 and currently at    RSQ EAST. Estimated departure is on the  27th October.

Anyone know if she has AH capabilities?

Regards

Hi All,
I had a very very close look at the SEVEN PELICAN yesterday and across her stern on the deck are barriers , she also has a lot of diving gear and air equipment on there. I thought she might have been in to do some sort of diving work on the rig. Also thought it was the reason she docked at the RSQ quay.We will have to keep our eyes and ears open!!

Hi Brian

May well be that she is in to take on supplies and also to change her deck configuration?
I'm hoping to get a 'close view' of her when I push off later this afternoon for a day out in Ijmuiden onboard the KOS

Hi Steve ,

Now this is what I call a powerful anchor handler
Magnus:-
http://www.harms-bergung.de/Pictors/Datasheets/MAGNUS_TAURUS-data%20sheet-version%2020071030-ci.pdf
200 ton bollard pull.

I have found some details on the SEVEN PELICAN.:-

http://www.subsea7.com/cms/pdf/DSND%20Pelican.pdf

Does not look like she does much towing.

Hi richard,
Vos Commader looks like a standby boat/saftey boat I doubt she will be towing the Northern Producer out, but I might be wrong.

Both the ESVAGT CONNECTOR and the MAGNUS are due in the TYNE on the Wednesday the 29 th of October, according to the Port of Tyne Website:-

http://www.portoftyneonline.co.uk/harbour/expected_shipping.asp

it also says they are due to sail the same day , but this probably is only an estimated time as the weather forcast is not the best.

MAGNUS is on her way to the Tyne also:-

ESVAGT CONNECTOR is on her way to the TYNE according to the AIS

Hi Jon

She has just sailed into the Port of Tyne - so it looks as though we are all set for the Northern Producers departure - weather permitting!

The AHV Magnus is apparently en-route for this move as well. she is usually a shell chartered vesssel but nice none the less, plenty of power for a small anchor clanker!
