And now (as of 2.1.22) shown on AIS as 'FINO'.  Can't identify new owner/operator, as yet. Any information welcomed.

......... and Autopremier has disappeared from the UECC 'Our Vessels' listing on their website.

UPDATE: Equasis now showing her as 'PREMIER', still owned by Ugland/UECC, but as suggested above, now managed by Matrix Ship Management.

Thanks for information guys  - I'd checked out Equasis already. And she was POR (Madeira) registered previously - so no change there either. Interestingly, the UECC website still shows her as Autopremier and part of their fleet. Guess time will tell.

The UECC operated vehicle carrier, Autopremier (97/11,591) has been docked at Avonmouth since about 26 February - over three weeks. On AIS she is shown as now being called 'Premier'. Can anyone confirm whether this is in fact the case or whether or not she has been sold to new owners?

Whist the Kopje van Kanada is certainly closed off and out of bounds, lots of people still use the access road as far as the sea wall, then turn left and park in various places. You can then walk over the dyke and get almost the same views as from Kopje van Kanada. No problems at present, though things may change.
There are, of course, lots and lots of places you can access to the east of the Ghent canal. Including a mole between the Jachthaven and canal that still gives you a very good view of traffic going into the canal sluices. All of these locations involve a short walk of a 200m or so.
Further east are many other good spots, though you will need a car or bicycle to get to them.
Only small, shallow draft vessels are using the northern passage. All large ships continue to hug the southern shore in the Terneuzen area.
Hope this helps.

Dear All
Just going through some old records and have come across something I think may not be right. At Vlissengen on 29.4.16 I have recorded seeing the crude tanker 'ARDMORE SEALANDER'.  But can find no trace of her existence. I wonder if I mis-recorded this. Should have been the 'ARDMORE SEALEADER' instead.
Any comments (polite) gratefully received.

With thanks

Another excellent location is Otterndorf - a small town about 6 miles up-river from Cuxhaven. Free parking near the coast or take the train from Cuxhaven. There is a nice restaurant/cafe from where all shipping movements can be monitored, though you will need to walk down to river front to take pictures. Check out the video section of this website for lots of films taken from this location. Sun behind you for much of the day. A tranquil location. Good for walking or cycling.

Hullo All

Was thinking of a trip to Tarifa (southern tip of Spain) to observe shipping passing through the Straits of Gibraltar. Has anyone been there? If so, comments as to practicality of such a trip gratefully received.
