Two tankers ran aground in storm

The Tansanian flagged tank m/v "MAG 1", 1626 dwt (IMO-Nr.: 7036735) drifted aground in the morning of Dec 14 at 6 a.m. at Sokhumi. There were 100 tons bunker fuel but no cargo on board. The machine room flooded, and the stern became submerged. The same day the Greek tank m/v "Alexandroupoli" ran aground in the Gulf of Patrasski near Patry with a crew of 12. After refloating attempts failed, tugs were called.
