Old Reefers sold for scrap

Hi all,

hard times for shiplovers with a heart on old reefer vessels. The following vessels were sold for breaking:

Akebono Reefer, Argenta, Blue Stream, Dean, Eisha, Morillo, Nordic Cape, Nordic Bay, Nordic Ice, Pietari Dream, Pietari Flame, Pietari Frost, Royal Cooler, Royal Bay, Royal Reefer and Torvill. Actually the SNOW FLOWER is on the way from Manila via Singapore to Alang and I think many others of these good old lady`s will follow soon

It's wery sad to see so many beautiful ships going to scrap. But I'm afraid thats the way everything goes now; it started with the container-revolution. General cargo-liners disappeared - it was cheaper to send cargo in containers; almost no stevedores needed.
And now also reefer-transport has been hitten by container-transportation. I don't know how many reefer-containers the largest M
