Thank You sir for the link - and a trip down memory lane.
I was very lucky to tour this wonderful ship in the mid 1980's in San Francisco.
We even got a peek into some more private areas as my Brother-in-Law (at the time) was CPO.

As I remember she came in under the Golden Gate at full sail (correct term ?)- a most inspiring sight from Pier 39.
We met her at Pier 45 I believe and got to watch all the cadets at work in prep for docking.  Quite an experience.

Now I'll be digging around the house for the old photos from that weekend  :lol: ...

I didn't remember her being referred to as a 'Cutter' though, but rather the Barque Eagle.
Mis-reference by the Miami Herald ?
