Purchase of reefer vessels
« on: November 28, 2012, 05:39:27 PM »
Maestro has concluded the purchase of two 703,263 cbft reefer vessels, the "Amazonas" and the "Parana". The delivery took place in October respectively November 2012 and both vessels are presently being upgraded and expected to be ready for trading early 2013.

The "Amazonas" has been renamed "Ice Glacier" and the "Parana",  "Ice Grace".

Hi Tore
Intersting from the viewpoint of reefer ships and carrying container at least on deck.
Any idea what the plan is for them ? They are not very well equipped for nowadays reefer vessels where containers can at least be stowed on deck. Seems to be a pure reefer. Therefore they may have a charter for them already ? Or just a blank shot,,which I don,t believe in this matter.
NOW!!!,,,if we could get rid of the sailors,,how safe shipping would be !!!!!!!!

These vessels can take their fair share of containers .. Certainly as many as any other modern reefer as this photo shows the stowage lugs

thank mike
on the other view it was not so visible
often one row is often standard,,but two on both sides that gives already a bunch of containers on deck
