Site related news, functions and modules / underhand deletion
« on: January 03, 2016, 12:14:26 PM »
I have to say that something is wrong at admin city, I posted a photo of a harbour overview, fantastic.
Admin then changed the category to the ship that is in dock, without my permission I have to say.
Then it was promptly deleted for the vessel being obstructed, they should never have changed the category, as pic was of harbour and not ship.
Any thoughts on this, as this is not the first time I've had this problem

Shipping News and information / Island Escape( IMO 8002597)
« on: October 21, 2015, 06:34:49 PM »
Just back from a cruise on the Island Escape, and as it appears to be her penultimate cruise, because come the 27th of October when she dock in Palma she is to be decommissioned as a cruise ship, I have no idea of her fate, apart from some speculative rumours.
Can anyone supply info on her ultimate fate

Trip reports / Dirty scumbag
« on: November 01, 2013, 06:53:06 PM »
Hi all, just to let you know that i wont be posting any photos for a while, as some dirty scumbag lifted my camera bag and all my gear, while i was on holiday >:(.
The upseting part was part of the holiday was a cruise, visiting some interesting ports, which were all bursting with loads of of ships, and me there with no camera :'(.
So i hope whoever took it has absolutly no luck or fun with it :(.
I'm on the look for a replacement just now, but dont know how long i will be without, but i hope not to long, so i can get back into the swing again.

Help and Advice / funnels!
« on: September 15, 2013, 09:34:29 AM »
Found this in the "Latest photo comment" section,   According to Administration ships crests are only those found on funnels. Also did you know that according to admin that if there is no crest on the funnel then that funnel cannot be included in the "Funnel" catogory ???. I know this as one of mine was deleted for that reason :'(.
Would be interesting to find out what the rules are or are they made up as we go along

Site related news, functions and modules / Deletions again
« on: April 25, 2013, 01:02:26 PM »
I'm sorry to bring up the deletion subject again, but after browsing the site again i see more "old photos" being allowed to stay, when they clearly break the site rules and standards, and are being allowed because their "old".
I'm sure that there are many enthusiastic members that have had much better and new photos removed, and just as many that much prefer their own and others newer ships, than the constant stream of old scanned slides/negatives/pictures.
I'm not decrying these, but i do when they are shown preferential treatment, and at the expence of perfectly good recent photos.
Should be one rule for all, not for some.
This post is not aimed at any individual, just the admin rules. And is not posted to upset anyone that has posted "old photos"

Shipping News and information / Open bow doors
« on: April 23, 2013, 08:55:09 AM »
I thought the practise of sailing with the bow door open was prohibited since the Herald of  Free Enterprise disaster at Zeebrugge, or is that just in Europe, and not Asia.
I'm refering to the series of photos of "Maharlika Siete - IMO 7407714" posted by foggy
Does anyone know for sure ???

Shipping News and information / Ugly ships
« on: March 26, 2013, 10:21:02 AM »
I have seen, over the past while, quite a number of people decrying the shape of some ships, i.e. Norwegian Epic.
Might i say in my humble opinion, that ships like this are built for porpose. If you want 2/3000 passengers on a ship then it need to be made a certain way, long and tall.
Short and squat and you get a hundred or two on board, and therefor not much profit.
And i suppose shape is a personnal thing, and to me the big cruisers are not that bad, in fact quite pleasing, but to some they should be sunk at birth.
I saw a post resently about dredgers being ugly and liking them to the new cruisers, outragous.
Rant over, have a nice day.
