Hello everyone,
i just wondered if it`s possible to find out what ships where lying at New York harbor on 9/11. I didn`t found anything on the internet. The only thing i know is that the "Royal" Princess" (now "Artania") was in Manhattan on 10th september. Would be interesting to know

a fire broke out on the "Caribbean Fantasy" yesterday. All passengers and the crew where rescued.

German sites are reporting that the ship was gave up after it grounded. The Coast Guard says that the ship would sink.

Shipping News and information / former MSC Melody sinks in Goa, India

The cruise ship "Qing" (IMO 7902295), better known as MSC`s "Melody", sunk 3 days ago at her berth in Goa, india. She heavily listed to one side and hit the 7 foot deep sea bed. She was stabilized yesterday and is planned to be raised, but this is her end for sure

I had the idea that you can write into this thread all ships that are sold for scrap. I think that gives a better overview

Help and Advice / searching for pictures of old passenger ships

Hello
I'm looking for pictures of old passenger ships (until 1970) for my book "Die goldene Zeit der Ozeandampfer" (english: "the golden ages of ocean liners"), a book about the most beautiful ocean liners of all time (with a photo, technical data and the history about every ship).
Now i have a question: can you provide me some of your pictures of old passenger ships? I would note you, of course, as the owner of the pictures.
I hope you can help me, because this book means a lot to me.

The former transeuropa-ferries "Gardenia" and "larkspur" are renamed in "Ardenia" and "Larks" and sold for scrap (probably in aliaga, turkey). Maybe someone here has more informations about it?

(this news is already 5 days old, but it has not been posted yet). the captain of the "Artania" has died at the age of 52 years (heart attack). the cruise had to be interrupted for several hours.
