Driving a buggy on Mars should be not so difficult. No traffic lights, no drunken drivers and only one car on the whole planet.
But what will happen on Earth with an unmanned vessel if a cockroach finds its way into the computer-brain? So you will need at least a cockroach-exterminator on board. Then also the authorities will be satisfied as there is somebody they can put in jail if something goes wrong.

Westfalia was engaged in the South-America West Coast Service, all other "-ia" vessels were in Indonesia Trade. The vessel which has gone up the Amazonas was perhaps "Heidelberg", one of 10 "West-India" Vessels. In the early 80s only "Heidelberg", "Hannover" and "Goslar/ex Frankfurt" were left with Hapag-Lloyd, if I remember correctly. It well may be that we met in Amsterdam in 1981 when I was there with "Goslar" or 1980 with "Borussia"
