Site rules are quite clear about the variation in angle between consecutive shots. Sometimes it is a long time before contraventions are noticed by admins.
I totally agree, and would accept it , but on looking at the offending photo, it seems that the reviewer needs to pay a visit to specsavers if he thinks that this is the same angle as any of the others

I seem to recollect some time ago there was a confirmation that there would be no retrospective deletions - has this changed ?

Allan
Maybe it's only for some, and obviously not us

[Not anymore Andrew, many new large fences and gates, was like this last time I went, as with most ports(air, sea or land) security has gone wild, spoils it for enthusiasts.

If you are North of the Border then very worthwhile going up to Aberdeen as it's a very (by modern security standards anyway) open port with plenty of viewpoints plus harbour boat tours too.

Yes i noticed that deviation, and agree it was to have time to repair the problem to make it home to Southampton, and I suspect to make longer and lasting repairs.

I use this camera, and find it excellent, but I have the Tamron 16x300 and find this a very competent lens and more than capable to satisfy my needs of ship photography, oh and at a fraction of the

it seems that researching is going to take more time many people may not want to bother searching all over other places
My sentiments exactly, I sign in to Shipspotting to upload photos and browse the other pics already on, I don't have the inclination or want to have to start trawling the internet to find details that were once here and if necessary used to find out what you needed to know. And as an after thought many other sites want you to sign up to get the details your looking for, to me this is not an option

If I'm not wrong there are categories that you need the owners name to upload photos.
ie Shipping Companies Funnel Marks/ Superstructure Logo Boards.
What's to be done now the information has gone, as you are aware you need to upload owners name and not ships name

The ship is in a dock and therefore in most cases it is impossible to get an unobstructed view of the ship.

Well said Jens, this has always been my case, unless you can get to the other bank to get unobstructed view, in my case the other bank is eight miles away, so no chance of a snap from that distance. So back to the original topic of clutter and objects on the dock from buildings to vehicles to rubbish, so why is there obstructions better than mine

Peir Master and Phil English, I've decided to accept your decisions, though grudgingly, as I do look through photos and new insertions and have to say that it seems that double standards are in place and there are numourous photos that contravene the rules you impose, you should take a look and do you job to the best of your ability.
Not to be picky but a case in point and for no other reason, please take a look at the series of photos of Harmony of the Seas(not harbour overview, but cruise ship) that was uploaded reasently, and then tell me that the ship is not obscured, even worse than mine, and as such need rerevewing
And before using the adage that you have many many photos to review every day, and I realise this , but you seem to do mine very smartly and others that are clearly worse are overlooked, and also realise that due to past transgressions my photos get first views, but that is only my impression.
