Hello David

I have made the translation to the Spanish language of this topic, being as follows:

The purpose of the review is to consider whether the existing standards and rules, indexed at http://www.shipspotting.com/support/index.php, are appropriate and necessary

Consultations and review of site standards / Re: Topic 4: View of ship

Nowadays if you take a photo in a terminal container dock, it will be very difficult to take a clear photo of the ship mainly due to the container cranes, vehicles, stowage of containers on the dock and so on, this rule would be more useful for bulk carrier or heavy weight ships or in docks which do not operate with containerised cargoes, so if the photo shows a ship loading or discharging packages, machineries, extra large packages, bulk cargoes and so on this in my personal opinion can be a very insteresting or educative photos.

I found this website when I was searching for ship photos, I am member since September, 2004 when Tomas was the webmaster, of course that the site has evolutionated since then and I clearly remenber that the forum was very active by commenting the newbuildings, ships scrapped, information about ships and so on.

Just to add only.

How many angles are there to take a photo to one ship?

Basically four points (from fore to aft, starboard and portside bands and from aft to fore) therefore the possibilities to change such a takes are impossible.

I took a glance to a very recent upload MSC KIM - IMO: 9351581, there are 70 photos of this same ship, the first photo was posted in the year 2015 because this is a relatively a new container ship.

I know I do not have any authority to comment anything about the web site as I have downloaded all my photos but I am a very old menber practically since the very beginning of this web page.

One solution to this problem about the quantity of the same photos, should be to keep the photo uploaded for a limited number of years for example five (5) years after this time and only if this is possible the photos should automatically been downloaded from the records.

This is another point of view and please take it bas another opinion.

Tomislav Raymondi.

Yesterday or today three (3) of my photos posted (M/V Puffin Arrow) two (2) of them posted the 30th of January of 2015 and the other one in the year 2013, in all of them it is stated in the same robotic message the following:

"Dear Tomislav Raymondi,

Your photo of Puffin Arrow (Photo ID: 2182353) has been removed.

Reason: Exposure
The photo is too bright or too dark and detail difficult to see.

Personal message from admin:
Poor quality and grainy

Site standards can be found here:
http://www.shipspotting.com/support/faq.php?category=Site%20standards%20for%20all%20photos

Regards,
Shipspotting.com Photo Admins"

My question is, how did you realize that a photo posted in 2013 did not comply with the web site standards?

THIS HAS BEEN ENOUGH, I AM NOT GOING TO TOLERATE THE WHIMS OF WHO KNOWS WHO TO DELETE PHOTOS.

Tomislav Raymondi.

Robert both photos qualify, at least technically speaking, one is for a mineral bulk cargo I rather say the hatchcoaming and the other one of a classic cruising ship.

Hello Ken

Four (4) photos for a ship is excellent, one from fore to aft and one viceversa plus one per band are great to show a whole ship.

Regards

Tomi.
