Help and Advice / 1982 sailing schedules from Western Australia
« on: March 20, 2021, 02:56:52 PM »
Hi there,

Do you know the Leandros (IMO 7819400) and the Gladiator (IMO: 6510227)?

They were two argentinian ships sailing from Western Australia (possibly Fremantle, Kwinana or Bunbury) to Argentina (Puerto Madryn) in the eighties.

Actually, I was told that but I need it to be confirmed. Thus I'm looking for some archives where I could find their schedules for the beginning of 1982.

Would you know if some newspapers or gazettes would hold 1982 sailing schedules from Western Australia ports and whether they would have digitized them?

Thanks for your help,

Michael

Hi there,

Is there anyone here who would know about ships sailing from Hong Kong to Australia in the second half of 1981?

I was told that most vessels used to go to Western Australia (especially Fremantle), but were there others going to other territories (Darwin, Brisbane and so on) ? and which ones or what kind of vessels then?

Waiting for your replies,

Cheers,

Michael

Hi guys,

Is there anyone here who would know the whereabouts of the GLADIATOR (http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=2216853) (former Bulk Venture ; owner: Maruba  ; registration number: IMO 6510227 ; flag: Argentine) in 1981/1982?

I was told she crossed the ocean(s) from Australia (Fremantle or Kwinana) to Argentina (Puerto Madryn) at that time, but I'd like you to confirm and eventually give more details about those voyages.

Waiting for your answers,

Michael

Hello everybody,

My name is Michael and I am an amateur novelist.

For a story I'm currently writnig, I need information about shipping routes in the South pacific in 1981/82.

Thus, I would like to know if any merchant ships left New Zealand or Australia to go to Chilean or Argentinian ports at that time, after crossing the South Pacific.

Would you know then what types of ships these were? Oil tankers, container ships, cruise ships, others? Also, would you have the names of some of these ships and the nature of their cargo?

In the event that no ship would have passed through there, were there sea routes in the other direction, via Southeast Asian waters and then the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean (thus passing through other ports maybe, such as Singapore or Cape Town)?

I would be very grateful if you could provide me with this information or direct me to somebody who could or to a website containing archives.

Michael
