Towada Maru, built 1957, in 1969 Ishikari Maru, in 1977 scrapped in South-Korea ?

Sanuki Maru, built 1961, in 1974 out of service, in 1978 scrapped but where and by whom ?

Site related news, functions and modules / latest photo comments
« on: March 20, 2012, 06:30:05 AM »
Dear members,

We have now an enlarged box for the latest photo comments.
The reason was that members did not see the interesting latest remarks because the box contained only the last five messages.
By silent agreement we ended now messages like "nice shot", etc.
May I suggest that we also end messages like "IMO xxxx" or "Typo 'name'" ?
Better to send such info to the member that posted the picture on the website in a personal message.

An other remark about the language on this website.
We have a lot of foreign members, some do not understand English very well but try their best.
Can we avoid the "fast language" like typo, lol, asap, etc?
In the way we can keep it a website for the whole world instead of the UK/USA.

Regards, Pieter
(maybe also writing in clumsy English)

Can anyone tell me more about this:
Finnlines ordered in 2001 two roro-paper-carriers: Finnpulp and Finnmill, Jinling Yard in China, yard nrs 98-0705 and 98-0706.
The same design was used for:
Tor Corona (2007, yard nr 402)
Tor Hafnia (2008, yard nr 403)
Tor Fionia (2009, yard nr 404)
Tor Jutlandia (2009, yard nr 405).

What is the story about yard nr 401 that is missing in this series?
Was Tor Hafnia maybe originally a Finnlines-vessel, because keel was laid already in 2005?

It is a mystery to me....

Help and Advice / Cannot reach the site anymore?
« on: September 23, 2010, 05:30:43 AM »
Hello, last two weeks I have been busy with uploading my photo's from my cruise to Norway and Murmansk. However since two days I can not reach the site anymore. Any other website in the world in working fine, shipspotting.com is unavailable. By coincidence this happened since the same day that AirNav reported some test for the new site. Are there maybe some software setting changed during the test by accident? I want to complete uploading my Murmansk pic's....   Regards, Pieter

An internet magazine abour ro-ro-traffic mentions that Steelca and Woodca are cancelled due to the recession, can anyone confirm that? Thank you.

In preparation to a cruise to Norway: does anyone know a website that lists all the cruise ships that will visit Honningsvag / Northcape in 2010?
I can find websites for many other Norwegian ports, but not this one (and it is Norways busiest cruise port).
Thank you...

Shipping News and information / Equasis?
« on: November 24, 2009, 02:43:33 PM »
The new version of Equasis requires a new registration of each user, using an e-mail-adress. However I never pass the last field, with the five characters (accordingly to Equasis tech assist in UPPERCASE without space).
Do other members have the same problem and did someone completed the registration succesfully?
