Aleksi, I know that you have reported it but new is the faster frequency of the "unable to create" and that new uploads take five minutes or more before they are shown in "new photos" and "my gallery", while in the past new uploads were seen right away.

Another problems since a week: after 12 rows of each 4 new photo's, the new photos switch to 3 rows of each 4 photos with date 27 January 2024. Then continues again with the present date, but a few of my new uploaded photos are nowhere to be seen. Are they hidden under that 27th selection, is this an index problem?

Is IT looking into the "unable to create photo" issue? It occurs now with me every second upload. Furthermore my "view gallery" and the main topic "new photos" do not show my last upload in realtime. So it is difficult to figure out which photo was rejected.

To clarify the duplicate uploads: the member uploads 2 or 3 photos and receive the message "can not create photo". But in reality only one photo is rejected and not all. But the member has the impression that none is uploaded. And the member use the button "upload" again: now the "duplicates" are created. To avoid this: after message "can not create photo" check in your own gallery which photo is missing and upload only that one again.
Possible reason for this message: the entrance-gate of the website is to busy and can not handle all traffic. Often new posted photos can not be seen straight away.

Am I the only member today wit the issue that under NEW PHOTOS the pic's move from 22 March directly to 27 January?

Also yesterday several the message: "can not create photo" while uploading.
But in fact of for instance two or three pic's in one upload only one was not uploaded.
I notice that other members have the problem today as well: several duplicates in the new uploads today?

Today the CONTACT FORM can not be used: The box "I am not a robot" does not function, can not be passed.

My method for finding IMO, ENI or MMSI is: google enter: marinetraffic <vesselname> mmsi (or imo or eni).
The requested vessel is mostly in the finds.

Shipping News and information / Re: Marine Traffic revamp

Who is this KPLER firm? Never heard of them before. The Fleetmon-website has been sold to them as well, their logo is now: Fleetmon from KPLER. I received an e-mail a few months ago about a merger of Fleetmon and MarineTraffic and Fleetmon will no longer exist after december 2023. Also I received as member of Fleetmon a new fresh MarineTraffic account. And today in Fleetmon this message: Due to our merger with MarineTraffic, we are preparing to migrate all your marvelous photos from the FleetMon website into the MarineTraffic platform. To avoid losing your precious work, we have to suspend the upload functionality here. So the end is close for Fleetmon.

I agree with Bjoern Eddy Engelbrethsen: it is rather impersonal.
Also I would like to see a list on the website which persons are behind the admin codings like AF, AL, etc.
Now any communication is impossible.
And sometimes I notice that admin team is putting a remark in the description box of a photo.
But how do I know that they did that, a PM would be nice.
Thank you.

An other one: Europe's most northern harbor is in the system as Honningsvag and Honningsvaag.
The Honningsvaag has something to do with the translation from Honningsvåg.
Preferred and most often used is Honningsvag

An other one: the Norwegian city Bodø is in the system as Bodo and Bodoe.

Bodo is preferred and most often used. Bodoe has something to do with the "ø"-translation

Uploading an inland vessel the ENI is needed, consisting of 8 digits, countries like Netherlands, Belgium, Germany start with 0...., other countries have an other digit like Poland start with 2....
Full list on ENI-structure by country: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ENI_number

Uploading an inland vessel like GEESTEMUNDE eni 05116790
- entering the ENI as 05116790 give no history in the category box.
- entering the ENI as 5116790 give the correct history in the category box.
- entering the ENI as 5116790 then shows the message: complete to 8 digits, so 05116790 is needed
- viewing after upload show the ENI as 5116790 and not 05116790
- editing the ENI in the edit screen with an additional 0 gives back ENI 5116790 and a 0 lonely on the next line

See https://www.shipspotting.com/photos/3629874 as example.

Maybe IT can review this? Thank you.

Let me clarify about B/W: of course I have no objection to b/w photos from shipspotters and my definition for that is: taken by them self. Such as Malcolm Cranfield, excellent photos, I wished I was around in that period.
But for instance b/w photos found in an old shoe box inherited from granddad with photos far before 1945 or without any trace of the origin belong to my opinion on historical websites. And b/w photos copied from the internet or other sources should not be posted on this website.
When uploading, members must comply with Copyright Law. See the website rules under Info & Faqs.
This website was set up for actual shipspotters and not as historical archive for ships worldwide (because there is  no limit to that).
Just my opinion and everybody is free to think otherwise.

I will not go for "the website design sucks", because the design is much better than the previous version.
Don't think the digging is necessary: the buttons "most popular"  and "new photos" give a fast access to many photos.
But I agree with you that the b/w photos are to prominent on the website nowadays.
In the past I had a few arguments with the admins why this was allowed, for reasons of copyright or bad quality or copied from the internet.
The site started in 2004 and it mission was: "because there is no website at the moment for shipspotters to show their work".
That mission has gone out of sight with all those b/w photos, mainly are of great interests but that is not what this website was started for.
Just my thoughts.
