« on: February 05, 2018, 07:39:33 AM »
Good Day
I am trying to identify this bulk carrier that paid a visit to Arichat, NS Canada in late 70's early 80's time frame.(Sorry for low quality)She stopped in for a load of fish meal. I seam to remember it may have been named  SANTA MARIA or something similar. The flag in the photo looks like the flag of Denmark. Any help identifying and some info would be fantastic. Thank you all for your time!!!

Government says passenger, vehicle and freight service on the MV Sir Robert Bond between Lewisporte, Cartwright and Happy Valley-Goose Bay is being discontinued at the end of this shipping season. Transportation Minister Tom Hedderson says it's a natural step now that there is a highway link connecting the Labrador communities. Hedderson says Lewisporte will remain the primary terminal port on the island and Happy Valley-Goose Bay will remain the primary Labrador port for freight shipments to the North Coast of Labrador for the next few years while government monitors the movement of goods on the new highway. Lewisporte mayor Biran Peckford says though the move wasn't unexpected, he calls it disappointing, as the service was provided for over 50 years. The town hopes to meet with the minister soon to discuss the announcement.
