CSO Apache cable layer - her cranes & tonnage?

Recently we've been getting some weird and wonderful ships visiting the river Tyne.  Now with the former Swan Hunter cranes leaving the river, things have settled slightly - then the CSO Apache cable-layer arrived.

I checked her out from across the river this morning, some activity was going onboard, with one of the cranes working.  Nice looking vessel although I'm told she will be replaced by a new ship at some point next year?





I'd like to know what kind of capacity her on-board cranes actually have?  Most of the time this information is easy to find but in this case, it doesn't seem to be readily available.

She is having her pipelaying kit removed in Porvoo, Finland prior to being scrapped.

The pipelay spread will be refitted onboard the newbuild Northocean 103.

Does anyone have pictures of the CSO Apache in Finland?  Either at moorings or being scrapped?

We have a vessel called the North Ocean 102 moored here on the Tyne (and has been for some time), the 103 I assume is a completely different ship or just a typo?  It just seems strange that the 102 has had all her previous gear removed from the rear deck.

North Ocean 102 arrived here last year on Tyneside 'out of the box' from Spain.
The 102 is currently being converted into a deep sea cable layer

I've been on quite a few of those river trips myself and always enjoyed the cruise and met some interesting people on them as well.

She's certainly a nice looking vessel!  We seem to be getting some interesting ships recently, the Acergy Eagle being one of my favourites.

Gents,

The vessel I referred to was the 103, bought by Technip from Oceanteam. Oceanteam got into a bit of a financial mess with some cablelaying contracts and the sale was part of their refinancing package.

She is the third in a five ship series being built in Spain.

102 is indeed on the Tyne, originally preparing for  a 5 year charter  to a Mexican company which was due to commence shortly.  I think she was having cranes fitted. However this charter has now been cancelled, possibly the reason for the change in deck gear. She is now on charter to ABB for a cable lay job in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea ( Gjoea field for Statoil).This project is delayed.

Thw 101 is jointly owned by Bourbon and on long term charter in Angola.

Oceanteam also owns the AMT Explorer barge which is now moored at the former Swan Hunter's yard (now owned by NEMOC).  

It would be interesting to know what's going to happen with that barge with all the equipment being removed.

The AMT Explorer is now operated by Ferguson Modular , and will marketed as an accommodation barge.

Not sure she was ever actually owned by Oceanteam, although they did have her on time charter with an option to buy.
