This hobby is also about sharing information and the forum has developed in the last year or so from gripes about problems with the site to genuine, interesting posts containing useful information. To stop sharing information just in case others use it for malicious intent is a step too far in my opinion. We have enough pressure from those in authority to curtail our hobby for the sake of our "security" or "health and safety". OK, there is a risk, but just like being told I can't do go out onto a breakwater to photograph ships, just in case I get hurt, I don't particularly wan't to be told what information I can and can't share either, "just in case"....
FWE - Your rundown of ships both laid up and in awaiting orders / in storage was extremely useful. It's just the kind of post that this forum needs. The fact that some of those vessels are not strictly laid up is just nit picking in my opinion.
Maybe the answer is to vet more carefully those new members who join the site, not to discourage members from sharing info.
