I think this thread will probably finish soon. The reason I say this is that every ship bar one has gone from MARGATE ROADS and that ship "Cumbrian Fisher" has been there less than 24 hours. Formerly there have been up to a dozen ships there lying at anchor for the last several months. When this happened I do not know as I've only this morning noticed this fact. Rgds jw.

Lyme Bay Update   -  Front Scilla sailed for the Mississippi River yesterday afternoon. The Alkman sailed for Portland yesterday morning to take on bunkers but returned to Brixham late yesterday evening  and anchored in, more or less, the same place as before.
The Sea Land Performance is part of the U.S. Government

A little activity in Torbay/Lyme Bay over the last 24 hours.
The United States Military Command Ro Ro/Container Ship
'USNS 2nd LT JOHN.P.BOBO' arrived and anchored for which I presume is a recreational stay of some period as Several Garbage skips were taken out to her this morning by Pilot Launch. (These ships of the MPS SQUADRON ONE Call from time to time for this purpose)

NYK SIRIUS Arrived empty of boxes yesterday from Southampton and anchored in the 'Box' for which I presume will be a lengthy stay.

Box vessel  'SEALAND PERFORMANCE' Has left the  Deep Water Anchorage this morning, boarded the local Pilot and now looks as though she will be re anchoring within the Torbay Inner Anchorage at Alpha or Bravo....so good opportunities for any photographers.

The car carriers "Dyvi Adriatic" and "Dyvi Baltic" have been laid up in Karmsund, near Stavanger in Norway. They are apparently on 5-year time charters to Mitsui OSK.

According to the article, they are scheduled to stay idle for at least 6 months.

Pictures of the many vessels already laid up along the Norwegian coast (Dyvi, Wilhelmsen and many more) can be found in this thread on a Norwegian web forum: http://www.skipsfarts-forum.net/read.php?TID=7505&page=1

Maersk Beaumont arrived on the Clyde today, prior to moving up to Loch Striven. It is rumoured she is the first of many from Maersk to lay-up there.

One of her sisters is still sat off Margate in the Thames Estuary. Maersk Bentonville has been there since the start of April.

SEALAND PERFORMANCE  - currently anchored in Tor Bay - was giving Loch Striven as her destination when she left Rotterdam a couple of weeks ago so I guess she could be heading up there as well at some point.
The other container ship anchored in Tor Bay - NYK SIRIUS - appears to be sitting out one return trip from Europe to Taiwan. According to NYK

It looks like another C.-P. Offen containership is due to lay up in the River Fal tomorrow. SAN FRANCISCO is due at 13.00 according to the Falmouth Port website and, as I'm staying in Falmouth this week, I'm hoping to be in prime position.
Two containerships that have been lying idle in the bay for the past couple of weeks are due to sail away tomorrow. FRITZ REUTER and E.R. COPENHAGEN are expected to sail for "sea", whilst long-term anchorage resident METHANIA does not appear to be going anywhere soon.

Cheers
Phil
