Is she really a newbuilding or rebuilt old bulker (in this case possibly IVAN SUSANIN...)? That would be good to know. As I think I read here once that the previous new one GRUMANT may be rebuilt YEMELYAN PUGACHEV as her hull really looks similar than those DMITRIY DONSKOY type vessels where these belong.

Ivan Susanin (IMO 8131879) is currently en-route to Sagunto, Spain. ETA 3/8/2007 (From AISLive)

Pomorie (Spelt Pomorye on AIS) (IMO 9428499) currently en-route to Longkou, China. ETA 3/8/2007.

I'm not sure if IMO 9428499 is the correct Pomorie/Pomorye, but if it is, it looks like two different ships.

Ah I see. One explanation could be that those newbuildings are just made to same dimensions than those old bulkers, but still I

You are mistaken. Grumant really was rebuild from YEMELYAN PUGACHEV in China.
The hull was partly renewed, main engine - repared by germans. New - superstructure, auxiliary diesel generators, boilers, pumps and etc.

Back to Pomorie, note the official data from the Russian Register of Ships, particularly build and keel laying dates:

http://www.rs-head.spb.ru/c/getves.php?imo=9428499

No mention of any rebuild.

I am pretty sure I actually saw a picture of two of these bulkers alongside a yard in China, undergoing a rebuild. I'm just struggling to remember where I saw it right now! Once I get it, I will post it a.s.a.p.

Brgds.

Forget what I have written to this thread before. Nowadays I know GRUMANT is rebuilt from YEMELYAN PUGACHEV and POMORYE is rebuilt from YURIY DOLGORUKIY. I also remember reading from this thread (now it
