WRECK 5 in the Red Sea
« on: May 15, 2024, 05:18:57 AM »
We continue with the sunken ships in the Red Sea.

Now we are located in Al Hudayda, Yemen.

This ship is not a wreck, it is an abandoned ship.

Look and see if it is an abandoned ship.

Image of the ship from a distance and as I say here begins the ship's dance.

If you use Google Earth from 2016 to 2024, you are going to see that the ship turns in the same place, that's why I say the ship's dance

Location: 14°54'59.6"N 42°55'13.8"E

Does anyone know which ship it might be?

Best regards friends!

Hello Mafioso,

She looks like the tanker STARLET (2003 / 6499 gt / IMo9282687).

Regarding the STARLET, it makes sense when paired with this salvage operation summary from the website of Five Oceans Salvage:

"LOF dd 31/07/2015

M/V “STARLET”
Chemical tanker STARLET (10,048 dwt, built 2003), in ballast, suffered water ingress in her engine room whilst at anchor in the inner anchorage of Hodeidah, Yemen. A Lloyd’s Open Form was signed between Five Oceans Salvage and Owners on 31st July 2015 and Scopic was invoked. Salvage tug IONIAN SEA FOS (10,560BHP, 102BP), fully equipped with salvage, patching and antipollution equipment was engaged to assist together with a salvage team of eight persons and five armed guards to ensure the safety of the tug and crew while inside the Yemeni warzone. The personnel embarked in Djibouti since air transportation to Yemen was not an option due the state’s war situation. In the course of the following two months, the tug and salvage team successfully obtained permission to work onboard the casualty and prepare her for the onward towage out of Yemen. Due to the escalating war situation in Yemen, the tug and crew was forced to leave Yemeni territorial waters and the operation was suspended."

Hola  Yvon Perchoc y Kyle Stubbs

Gracias por sus respuestas y la verdad con esos datos es seguro el STARLET (IMO 9282687).

Yo en mis datos y mapa ya lo anote como STARLET
