Fate/pictures of Jack's Bay (ex HMCS Grandmere J258)
« on: December 02, 2014, 06:36:51 AM »
Does anybody know the fate of Jack's Bay (ex mine sweeper HMCS Grandmere J258);
Grandmere was the escort vessel to the ferry Caribou when the latter was sunk by U-69 on October 13/1942 en route to Newfoundland, with the loss of 126 passengers and crew.
Vessel was later converted to a yacht and in 1951 was under British register out of Nassau, Bahamas. In 1959, now as Jack's Bay, she sailed between ports between Florida and Cuba.
