Egypt plans to dig a 'second' Suez canal

Egypt said it plans to build a new Suez Canal alongside the existing 145-year-old historic waterway in a multi billion dollar project to expand trade along the fastest shipping route between Europe and Asia.

Egypt has chosen a consortium that includes the Egyptian army and global engineering firm Dar al-Handasah to develop the Hub to stimulate Egypt

Egyptian economy going to develop its sources of hard currency and they started to think about the project of digging new Suez Canal.This canal will run parallel to original canal.New canal length is 72km and estimated cost around $4bn.Original canal built in 1869.Existing one is one of the world's biggest canal.
