Hi Aaron

From what I can make out the Hamburg-Sud "Bahia" vessels are being progressivly drydocked and replaced while out by other vessels to keep the schedule going for our peak export season. Bahia Grande went first when replaced 13.4 by Bahia Blanca. Then Bahia left on 1.5 and replaced by the returning Bahia Grande. She returned on 23.5 to r/p Bahia Negra which is not planned to return - so at this stage she is dropped and Bahia Blanca the newcomer. However Balthasar Schulte may only do one more trip so maybe Bahia Negra will slot back in for her. Maersk apparently have replacements lined up for their small contributions Irenes Remedy and Maersk Jaun, possibly within current voyages.

Lisa Schulte after ending her NZ charter has been chartered by Maersk so may still end up back in the NZ trade.

Cheers

Brent

Titania - IMO 9505053, is being added to the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Europe to Oceania route.
This is another new build PTCC from Daewoo, Korea that was delivered in late 2011. 71,600 Grt and 227m LoA, and presumably a near sister to Carmen, Tiger and Figaro from the same yard and delivered within the last year or so. Titania is due in Auckland on the 18th July.
regards,  Nigel.

Since March this year Port of Auckland has been exporting Ironsand to Asia and Australia. Here are some of the bulk carriers that have exported it or are going to.

The first vessel was the Couga (Built: 2010/Gross Tonnage: 29,104tons/Deadweight: 50,806tons/IMO 9414905/LOA:182.98m) that arrived on the 27 March 2012 and departed on the 30 March 2012.

The Second vessel was the Glarus (Built: 2001/Gross Tonnage: 27,011tons/Deadweight: 46,513tons/IMO 9220471/LOA: 189.80m) that arrived on the 15 April 2012 and departed on the 19 April 2012.

The third vessel is the Nena M (Built: 1995/Gross Tonnage: 25,503tons/Deadweight: 43,176tons/IMO: 9114139/LOA: 185.06m)  is currently schedule to arrived on the 29 May 2012 and due to departed on the 02 June 2012

Hi Robbie
That's amazing. Do you know what the reason is for the change? It is quite a trek from New Plymouth around North Cape to Auckland.

Hi

Our company feeders at least 20 full reefers each sailing from New Plymouth, that is when it calls as sometimes like this week the portcall is cancelled and causes a real scramble and heartache to find alternative transport. Cargo is for containerships calling at Auckland (and some to Tauranga) with trucking from Onehunga across town to the container terminal necessary and usually needs to be same day such as for the Trident sailings to east coast USA each Friday. If a container is selected for customs x-ray then adds to the tension whether all can be achieved in a short space of time. Perhaps these issues lead to the decision to go to Auckland port, but then we have not been advised of the service change which is significant, as having a longer transit as mentioned will jeopardise the tight but beneficial quick connections.

Cheers

I do not know why they have changed the port of call, I have a friend who works for Pacifica and he has told me he will let me know why as soon as he finds out so watch this space.

Spirit of Resolution omitted Onehunga and called Auckland last month as she could not cross the Manukau Bar due to the weather conditions. The following voyage was LYT to Auckland only in order to make up lost time. Last week it was LYT - NPL and ONE. This week she is doing the a full voyage of LYT - NSN - NPL and ONE.
