It's way past time that the rogue state of Somalia was made to answer severely for the activities of their sea-going criminals.
That could be a bit tricky as there is, to all intents and purposes, no such thing as the State of Somalia.
There has been virtually no effective government since the overthrow of Siad Barre in 1991.
Besides, hasn't this been tried before?
It seems to me the only effective way to overcome this problem is to deny the pirates access to the sea from their home ports (and that would take a huge amount of sea power) or to make all ships trade in the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean in convoys.
While I have sympathy with the families of those killed, I have to wonder what they were thinking, sailing in that area?
