upload photo's
« on: June 04, 2010, 06:28:53 PM »
I want to upload all my photo's to this website. I have about 1980 photo's on my website. http://www.stevo.be/thumbnails.php?album=lastup&cat=0

I have two questions
1) Is there an easy way to upload all these photo's via ftp??
2) When I upload all my photo's, is this a photo who will get deleted??? I know that my background isn't straight but it's in the beginning of my vesselspotting and I never change anything on my photo's.

Hi Stevo

The site would be very pleased to get your photos.  But they would only be accepted if they complied with the site standards that are applied by Admins to all uploads.  See http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/xoopsfaq/index.php?cat_id=12

The photo reached from your link would not comply with item 8.    We all have in our files good photos that do not comply with site standards.

The deletions process is described at http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/xoopsfaq/index.php?cat_id=24

I am sorry I cannot give an answer to your question about ftp or other means of avoiding a one at a time upload of a collection.  I suspect there is no other way.

I do hope you enjoy the site

Best regards

Stevo,

FTP wouldn't work because of the way each picture gets an entry, record number etc in the database. So, while an FTP transfer would be ideal, there is no way to deal with the bulk entry of all those individual records.
