Dog saved form ice in the middle of Gdansk bay, Poland, by the crew of research vessel Baltica, became a member of the crew.
Dog is said to be very clever, "cold blooded" and having "a strong will of living" (to survive), because he did not panicked so much as to fell from ice to the sea water for good. He was driven on ice far to the sea, to the middle of Gdansk Bay.
At first many persons were calling to rescuers and admitting they were the owners of saved dog. But finally the person likely to be owner who made apointment to come for a dog have not shown up. Maybe this was not the real owner and was afraid of verification...
There were dozens of offers to adopt the dog, even from abroad, but it was finally decided the dog would stay with the crew who liked him very much.
Comforted by the crew of the ship and looked after by veterinary doctor, after recovering from shock and cold he appeared very quiet, nice, well behaving dog and became "media superstar" in Poland, and - as it appears - is popular also abroad.
