CMA CGM recently received the CMA CGM Christophe Colomb, first of eight explorer class ships with a capacity of 13,300 teu.
Ordered at DSME (Daewoo) in July 2007. The ship was originally planned for delivery in July, but due to a dispute with South Korea's Eximbank over ship values the handing over was delayed.
The newbuilding is assigned to the Maersk Line-CMA CGM joint Far East-Europe AE-7/FAL 7 service, in which she will join the Maersk ‘E’-class vessels.
