Is there a listing of ship strandings or groundings available?
« on: September 30, 2005, 02:53:13 PM »
Hello all,

I am enrolled at Maine maritime Academy and have been tasked with a term paper in my Casualty Analysis class.
I am looking for resources on ship strandings (groundings) in other countries and would like to compare their analysis with those of the USA. I am particularly interested in Russian ship strandings (groundings). Are there resources from the Russian point of view, or finding done by Russian government agencies similar to the United States Coast Guard who do these investigations? If so, can anyone help me to locate the information?

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

I've completed this paper. I am working on locating sources for marine salvage techniques that are being used to day in the industry.

Anyone have any leads by any chance?  :-)

Hi,
I'm not sure that this will help you, but try following site:
http://www.cargolaw.com/

The site is little bit complicated and not well structured, but be patient. At least you will find/read interresting things.

brgds
