Defence Secretary, John Hutton has said that the Royal Navy's two new aircraft carriers are likely to enter service a year or two later than planned.

In a statement to MPs, he added there would be no delay in construction - but work would continue at a slower pace.

I dont think this is bad news it is actually good news for the people that are going to be working on th eproject, the shields gazette had printed a front page story on this before the announcement was even made, as we on the Tyne are going to be building the 2 centre sections for the carriers , each section weighing 10 000 tons each. Thr trouble is - by the time they are built they will be out of date with the technology they will put in them.
