YM GALXY sold for scrap

YM GALAXY reported sold "as is" Hong kong and resold back to Bengladesh scrappers for $550 LDT.

Why the mention "as is" ? didithe vessel had an accident or a major brekdown??

At the same time also the YM GALAXY's sister, the YM OCEAN was sold for scrap to Bangladesh on private terms.

Owners are increasingly selling demolition ships "as is", rather than direct to breakers, to reduce their exposure to potential legal and environmental issues. It doesn't imply that there is anything physically wrong with the vessel.

Luckily I saw her this year in june arriving at Istanbul. So only 3 1/2 month she has gone for breakers. I will post her later.
