Yesterday a Japanese tanker and an Iranian bulker are highjacked, today a german vessel.
2 days ago a Malaysian palmoil tanker

German ship said to be the latest to be snared by pirates in Gulf of Aden, hours after two other ships seized.

Where are the international forces stationed in the area??????

5 vessels seized by the pirates and two more attacked, what are the NATO warships doing in the area?Everybody knows ,to which place the vessels will sail, mostly at anchor in the area near Eyl.Nothing happened, accept the pirates buy more and more weapons and even so called motherships(old fishing trawlers).
It seems to be a good business to act as pirate in the Gulf of Aden.

Interesting shipspotting area with the chill of being kidnapped.
Maybe they should hire some of the 1.000 of warships, which are just training the soldiers in all the European countries. That would be a better training area to exercise fighting.

:-o
That is for sure - it is time for actions.
Would suggest to invest heavily into surveillance of dangerous area, create reporting system for all craft, engage round-clock patrolling warships.
How long seafarers can tolerate this ridiculous fact, that every time you pass these coastal waters you will be most probably attacked by pirates, taken as hostages, loose yr life or limb, family or shipowner will pay ransom...and these guys will run and laugh?

The german vessel is the MV "BBC TRINIDAD" and belongs to "Beluga" Shipping in Bremen. She is under Antigua flag and no germans are on board. The name is a charter name, her originally name is "Beluga Navigation".
