Hi there.
Im new in this ,and i already love the site! :-D
I  have a question, someone who knows something about a small coaster named Hildgard/Hamburg????
I think she was sold in the earlier 80,s to some greek.
And then she had a new name as Athina-s or something...
She was build in the late sixties from Germany.
would be nice if someone could help me with this...
I was aboard on my summerholidays in the mid 80,,,,.
she was sailing  in a trade Vasteras-Goole for PAL LINE!
So,i hope someone could help me.......

The coaster you are thinking of was the HILDEGARD, I remember her on the PAL Line service, a regular at 25 shed here in Goole! According to my records. she was renamed NANNA in 1983 under the German flag, I have a photo of her as such in Hull Roads in 1985. Alfter that, she was renamed ALKI in 1989 and ATHINA S in 1991. I don't have a record of her fate, so she may well still be trading somewhere in the Eastern Med.
Hope this information helps you...

Maersk Duffield and Columbus New Zealand are indeed one and the same vessel. She will sail in the Ocenia Pendulum service (http://www.maersksealand.com/link/?page=page_schedules_routemaps&path=/newnetwork/oceasia/OC1).

All the best.

Renamings - Athena/Seaboard - Fednav
« Reply #58 on: January 30, 2007, 06:43:05 PM »
Looks like all six Atlantic-"P" class ~12993 GRT / ~17500 DWT multipurpose dry cargo tweendeckers have been chartered by Fednav (Montreal).  The Fednav website ( www.fednav.com ) lists all vessels with their new names.  So far Equasis only shows the Pioneer as renamed, that having occurred on 9 January 2007.  A brief article on page 5 of the December 2006 Port of Hamilton magazine (readable at http://www.hamiltonport.ca/_pdf/2006/061201-PortReport.pdf ) suggests the ships may be employed in the Europe-to-East Coast North America / Great Lakes trade.

BBC Russia (ex Atlantic Progress) (IMO 9223904) will be renamed Federal Patriot

African Patroller (ex Atlantic Patroller, Forest Patroller) (IMO 9190092) will be renamed Federal Patroller

BBC Korea (ex Atlantic Prince, Atlantic Pendant) (IMO 9223899) will be renamed Federal Pendant

Seaboard Pioneer (ex Atlantic Pioneer)(IMO 9190080) has been renamed Federal Pioneer.

Seaboard Power (ex Atlantic Power) (IMO 9190119) will be renamed Federal Power.

Seaboard Chile II (ex Atlantic Pride, Seaboard Rover)(IMO 9190107) will be renamed Federal Pride.
