FANTAASIA
« on: October 15, 2007, 10:31:10 PM »
Here, in Telemark, Norway, there are rumors about FANTAASIA. They say that FANTAASIA will replace PRIDE OF TELEMARK as long as she is in drydock in Gothenburg after the collision in Hirtshals. Anyone who knows the location of FANTAASIA is for the moment? Anyone who knows more about this case?

Thank You!
We are missing the link between Langesund - Hirtshals, so it`s nice to have this replacement confirmed.

Best regards to M.Wulf!

I think you have to wait a bit because Swedish inspectors found many problems (18) on Fantaasia, some of them serious. So, at the moment it's banned to take at sea for Fantaasia. Hope the situation is over very-very soon!

Dagbladet.no says:

The lifeboats couldn't be lounched.
The speakersystem onboard didn't work.
A store (shop) were build right in front of a emergency exit.
The doors in the waterproof hulls wasn't closed (10 doors to be exact!).

This were some of the things that made the ferry stay in port. The ferry were approved by Estonian authorities in June, this year.

According to Estonian media who got information from Tallink:
Inspection by Swedish authorities was done when there were repairworks on the vessel.
The speakersystem was not working on some spots only and it was probably because of cabelling works.
Lifeboats were ok. Had some problems launcing rescue boat.
All watertight doors what were checked closed perfectly.
