Israeli container line Zim has bought a 20% stake in Antwerp Gateway Terminal from DP World.
Other shareholders include Maersk, Cosco and CMA CGM.
Zim said the move would allow it to strengthen existing services as well as add new lines between northern Europe and the rest of the world. It is not revealing the price it paid.
The terminal is expected to handle 3.5m teu by 2010.
