CP VALOUR Sinking / sunked
« on: September 20, 2006, 07:30:29 PM »
Ship is sinking 25 miles North West from Faial. Is known by the National Tv Station RTP that 6 people on the ship while towed with four tugs ( MAERSK ACHIEVER ; REMO , BATTLEAXE and AYTON CROSS ) were rescued by an helicopter of the Portuguese Air Force some minutes ago.
Confirmed that CP VALOUR is at around 1600 meters depth in a location aroud 25 miles North West from Faial . The portuguese NAVY is searching the ship to give the exactly location. Is a sad end of a big and sad story.

Thank you for the update. A sad end to an epic salvage. Good thing they got her away from your shores, though.

Thank you for all the great pictures you have posted and for keeping us up to date on the salvage for all these months!

Best regards
