Photograph Quality
« on: March 11, 2022, 08:02:58 PM »
I have been going to Shipspotting.com for about 15 years, and over this time, particularly in the past few years, I've noted a distinct decline in the quality of many, if not most, of the photos being posted.  Their composition and technical quality are not what they once were, which may be attributable to the use of smart phone cameras instead of conventional ones and a loss of many of the fine photographers who once posted.  There is also much less variety than was the case in the past with far fewer postings from North and South America and a small number of members and locations appearing to become dominant.  The site still provides exposure to many ships and boats, which is good, but I long for a return to the past quality of the site.  Perhaps once COVID is reduced to a manageable level things will improve.
