Pacifica Shippings second coastal vessel is named Takutai Chief. She is ex Lihir Chief IMO 9519327.

She will call Auckland-Lyttelton-Marsden Point-Tauranga, and on alternate weeks Marsden Point will be replaced with Timaru.

Meanwhile Moana Chief will do a dedicated Auckland-Lyttelton-Nelson-Tauranga.

This will mean the main ports will have a call every 3.5 days.

Interislander Line have confirmed they have purchased their leased freight ferry Valentine IMO 9166625. They will now have four ferries to see them through the busy summer season. There is no news yet on a new name for the vessel, but that will happen when the port of registry is changed from Malta.

Jogela is in fact replacing Xin Qing Dao, not standing in for Tianjin Bridge.   :-\

For the busy period in the run up to Christmas, Capitaine Wallis is transferring to the Auckland to Noumea trade. This will free up the larger Capitaine Magellan to do the Intra island trade from Suva.

It looks like they will only use these two vessels, as the BBC Denmark is due back in Auckland 24 December, and will again head to Brisbane.
