Second Pacifica coastal container vessel is due in September. Along with Maersk that will make four vessels plying the coast.

There are two interesting arrivals at Northport in early August.
The Hunan is due from Singapore and the Shanghai Spirit is due from Brisbane.
Both vessels are bulk carriers, but they are listed as "discharging containers".
I would surmise that maybe they are empty reefers, as there is a shortage in the country for the export kiwifruit season.
Unusual to use bulkers, but I guess needs must.

A new shipping service has been launched from Tasmania to Bluff, Lyttelton and Nelson.
They are using the Eidsvaag Omega IMO 9763784. She has been converted from a general cargo vessel into a self unloading bulk fish feed carrier. Her first call at Bluff is 8th August. On her first voyage she is also calling at Picton.

The new vessel joining the NPDL fleet is Capitaine Tupaia IMO 9410301. She is ex AS Serafina and Maersk Wolgast. She is doing a southbound voyage from Asia and will berth at Auckland Container Terminal on 13 September. She will eventually replace Capitaine Dampier on the Tahiti trade. The latter vessel will partner Capitaine Tasman on the Fiji trade.
