Noor 1 (IMO 7104441)
« on: December 16, 2021, 07:43:34 PM »
In light of the recent mini cull of Red Sea pilgrim ferries, does anyone have any info on the fate of the 1971 built Noor 1?.

She remarkably is 50 years old, but was last on the ship tracking sites in early October, since then nothing. If she's still at anchor off Port Sudan (her last known position) are the bells finally toiling for this old lady.

Port inspection 10/6/2021, Sudan, port= Osman Digna.
3 deficiencies = propulsion main engine, voyage data recorder and other certificates
Fleetmon says at Sawakin Harbour from Port Sudan 17/10/2021 at anchor.
Apparently Osman Digna is Sawakin depending which site you use.
4 ships shown in harbour by satellite but no AIS etc.

Update: After 3 months invisible Noor 1 has appeared again in the last few days still in the same postion at anchor off Port Sudan.

Guess she must be laid up - we'll see what she gets up to in due course.

Reflagged recently to St Kitts & Nevis registry, never a good sign that!

On another site iv'e read she was involved in a grounding incident, resulting in the loss of a propeller. After a few weeks alongside in Sawakin she limped to her present anchorage in October last year where she has remained ever since. Surely a CTL?? Does anyone have any info on the grounding?

Noor is now on the move tonight heading away from Sudan on an Easterly course, destination unknown.
