Montenegro Locations
« on: November 22, 2020, 02:57:36 PM »
Notable locations should be added.

Just added an image of a ship in the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro and noticed that this country is missed by the data base creators. No port in the Montenegro is included. Can you add Kotor and Budva ports.

Also, what about adding not only ports but Bays/gulfs in the data base such as the Bay of Kotor?

Welcome to Shipspotting, MrBlond.
The absence of ports in Montenegro, and one or two other countries has long been a concern (as well as many indicidual ports in other places), but hitherto we have not been able to edit the list installed by the former IT managers decades ago.  I remain hopeful that, as part of the upcoming site refresh (which is going slower than expected during this difficult year), we will be able to do so in future.  When I have news on this, I will comment on
http://forum.shipspotting.com/index.php/topic,16559.0.html

For Montenegro, I have on my list to include also Tivat, Bijela and Bar.

How to find photos from Montenegro?
Since the country does not appear on the list of countries, could somebody help me find the photos taken there? The port of Kotor also does not appear despite being a major cruise ship destination.
Montenegro has been a country for a while, how come it is not on the list?

Close, but not a cigar  :). This gives me phots of ships registered in Montenegro but very few photos taken IN Montenegro. If the ships is registered elsewhere, it doe not appear.
Thank you anyway. Cheers...

I was surprised to learn about this issue. Montenegro has been an independent country for "only" 15 years, is a major cruise ship destination, but every time a ship spotter (and there are some local ones with magnificent photos) wants to upload a photo here from Montenegro they need to click "Unknown" in the relevant field...

Adding Montenegro should have been a priority, but it looks like nobody cares.

Will anybody care now that this borderline international incident has been revealed? :)

Our members Danijela Dani Paljusic and Drago Brdar are from Kotor,Montenegro. Try to find a ship that interests you through their photo collections. Most photographed ships in their collections are cruise ships and motor yachts.

I share your frustration over the many missing locations, especially whole countries like Montenegro.  Unfortunately the site upgrade project seems to have ground to a halt (I suppose at least in part Covid-related), but I will keep pressing for news.

In the meantime, I have merged this one with the previous Montenegro thread.
