Interesting.
Can you tell me what Damco is and if they operate vessels.
The name is unfamiliar to me.

Best regards

Damco, which has focused on freight forwarding since 2018, will see the integration of its air and LCL businesses into Maersk

Damco came in the hands of Nedlloyd in 1977, subsequently it was owned by P&O Nedlloyd after the fusion with P&O end 1996.
In 2005 Maersk bought P&O Nedlloyd and Damco came into the hands of the Maersk group.
Cheers,

Actually Damco was founded in 1905 in the Netherlands by C.W.H.van Dam who purchased a barge to transport goods between Germany and Rotterdam on the river Rhine. This happened one year after A.P. MOLLER started his one-ship enterprise in Copenhagen.
As a supplement to the information stated by MO Roy the further history of Damco includes similar developments of APM Mercantile and SeaLand Logistics finally leading to the single brand DAMCO.

In 2013 Damco headquarters relocated to the current location in The Hague, not far from where
C.W.H. van Dam started his business back in 1905.

Maybe we should also consider a short version of the history of SAFMARINE?

Cheers
Niels
