« on: July 30, 2018, 01:34:14 PM »
I see the tug INNOVATION is working ships in Felixstowe, is this part of her design introduction tour of Europe or is she now stationed there?

Hi Robert, I believe kotug have bought it. I think svitzer have been using it for training purposes but that is due to come to an end within coming weeks. Kotug will then take it permanently.

John

Thanks guys, I've been trying to fit a visit in to Felixstowe during reasonable hours but suitable day time arrivals have been a bit sparse of late.
Is there a departure schedule available on line?

Regards

Bob

The best place for departures is the port authority, HHA: https://hha.co.uk/live-data/berthed/

They also have a forecast page for incomings, and a departure page when vessels are sailing soon, and an arrivals pages for when they are on their approach.

Port of Felixstowe also have this set of pages: https://www.portoffelixstowe.co.uk/sailing-schedule/shipping-information/

Their predicted arrival times are usually a bit later than the vessel actually arrives, so you are best to use an app like Marinetraffic to keep an eye on them. Larger ships come up the approach channel at 14 or 15 knots at times, so they can arrive very quickly!
Have a good day!

Thanks Chris, that first link looks helpful

I use Marinetraffic but am between 1 & 2 hours drive away so usually look at your second link and hope for the best  :)

Cheers

You'll usually find that HHA berthed page notes when a departure time is "confirmed", which might give your lead time, for the first ship of your day . .
