Felixstowe Port meltdown continues . .
« on: July 05, 2018, 07:25:36 AM »
The meltdown at Felixstowe is continuing into its 4th week, with Maersk Line and others continuing to report major problems in getting ships alongside, and schedules all over the place. Some Maersk Line and MSC ships have omitted UK calls completely, while others have gone to Gateway and Sotuhampton, and Hamburg Sud have moved to Southampton and may not return.

The Port of Felixstowe is rather like a besieged but crumbling castle at present - keeping quiet but suffering.

At least the Shipping TV and the Trucking TV websites are keeping people informed. Major journals like The Loadstar have also run in-depth news items: https://theloadstar.co.uk/port-felixstowe-customers-must-face-two-months-absolute-chaos/

Port of Felixstowe's own pet websites have tended to try and ignore it all . . .
