Hi. (This is assuming that you'll be going there by car). Follow the signs for the National Waterways Museum (still often referred to by its old name "Boat Museum") which is a short distance from junction 9 of the M53 motorway. The Museum car park is on your right, but go past that, countinue round the bend and park on your left before you get to the Jabula restaurant. At that point you're right by a pathway alonside the Manchester Ship Canal, which is my usual vantage point. Ellesmere Port docks themselves comprise a long wharf just to the north of where the pathway ends, which is at the canal entrance to the Museum. Unfortunately the wharf has no public access and is on the same side of the canal as the pathway, so although the ships moored there are visible you can't always get a good angle for photography. It's better if you can catch them arriving or departing and of course there's the passing traffic to Stanlow, Runcorn and (occasionally) Manchester. I hope this helps. Regards Barry
