Ships sold for scrap
Michi1997:
I had the idea that you can write into this thread all ships that are sold for scrap. I think that gives a better overview :)
I make the start with the ships that were sold for scrap, according to the actual Optima Weekly:
- Bulk Carrier "Sea Gloria" (build in 1994; IMO 9057032), China
- Bulk Carrier "Hebei Tengfei" (build in 1990; IMO 8901846), China
- Bulk Carrier "Yu Jie" (build in 1987; IMO 8604383), India
- Bulk Carrier "Joyous Land" (build in 1994; IMO 9047104), China
- Bulk Carrier "Tuo Fu 3" (build in 1993; IMO 9013414), Bangladesh
- Container Vessel "Berulan" (build in 1995; IMO 9106455), unknown
- Crude Oil Tanker "Shinyo Splendor" (build in 1993; IMO 9004530), Bangladesh
- Crude Oil Tanker "Eagle Subaru" (build in 1994; IMO 9051363), Pakistan

I can also recommend to follow these two reports:
1) Paul Mason's weekly market report (demolition sales are interspersed with second hand sales). The link is renewed weekly, but can be accessed from following page:
http://www.freewebs.com/paulmasonthamesshipping/index.htm
2) GMS weekly report, available on Mondays via: http://www.hellenicshippingnews.com/News.aspx?ElementID=0c3da796-f236-4796-8242-62fa2f230a28
The GMS report is particularly interesting, because it lists arrival and beaching dates at Alang, Chittagong and Gadani Beach for the majority of vessels arriving there.
...and of course, the World Ship Society's magazine, Marine News, has an exhaustive Demolitions section (monthly magazine).
