ZIM ROTTERDAM DUE LONDON GATEWAY
« on: September 12, 2013, 04:21:43 PM »
The fire-damaged containership ZIM ROTTERDAM (10,000 teu) is due at London Gateway tomorrow to discharge containers. She was scheduled to go to Felixstowe but whether Gateway is an additional stop or a diversion isn't clear. PLA website has her due Sunk Pilot at 14.30

If anyone happens to get any pictures of Zim Rotterdam going up-river towards London Gateway, or alongside there, I'd be very grateful to hear and have a borrow of them for Shipping TV!

At the time of writing (12.20pm) she's still at anchor at Sunk anchorage.

Please let me know!

Thanks

Chris

Brief video report now online on Shipping TV:

New Video: Diverted from Felixstowe after a fire in her cargo containers, 10,070 TEU Zim Rotterdam will be the largest vessel to enter the Thames as she berths at the new port of London Gateway on Friday, 13th September 2013.

Not the largest vessel to enter the Thames, Chris, but the largest container vessel. Coryton and Shell Haven played host to nany Vlccs back in the day, larger in terms of Gt and dwt  to the Zim Rotterdam .

And although she went to Thamesport the 367m 'Margrethe Maersk' transited the Estuary in 2008.
