First gates arrive Panama for expansion
« on: August 21, 2013, 09:11:13 AM »
A very major step forward for the expanded Panama Canal, as the first lock gates arrive from Trieste where they were built.

It's going to be fascinating to see the last stages of this project, and to keep up with progress - if it really does happen - on the Nicaraguan Canal, which was in some disarray last time I read about it, on 5th August.

Here's a video clip of the gates arriving:

I hope you mean you like Shipping TV!

I've now been running it since November 2012, and it has a collection of 137 video clips online, mostly made by me, but with quite a selection of videos made by real experts like Fred Vloo in Rotterdam), Steve Carrett in Southampton, and others, who have permitted me to add their clips. I'm trying to get more newsy and up-to-date clips, but it is quite surprisingly difficult at times!

Should be up to around 150 clips by the time the site has completed a year . .
