Online database for yachts and cruise ships
« on: June 30, 2013, 11:54:14 AM »
Good afternoon,

Can anyone tell me if there's a online database (like equasis or veristar) about yachts and cruiseships.
i've tried to search but didn't find something like that.

Cheers

Leon

For sailing yachts and motor yachts of about 30 metres and more, the website www.superyachttimes.com has quite a large database. Use the search function on the boat name.
They seem to track quite well most of the newbuilds coming along, especially from European yards but also from the well known yards in other parts of the world. Most but not all have IMO numbers.
regards,

Nigel

If the site mentioned by Nigel does not help - it is very useful - do a Google search for Motor yacht followed by the yacht name.

Sometimes motor yachts have their own sites.

Check with the yacht you have photographed the porthole configuration and other design characteristics for the vessels that are found.

Hi

I have used marine traffic in the past to ID yachts of all sizes - You can usually get the MMSI number (sometimes IMO) and other details. Using MMSI in the internet is useful - as noted before many vessels are available for charter and the more exclusive ones have highly detailed estate agent type portfolios.

I saw some fabulous yachts in Cannes last year and ID'd many of them as noted above.

Regards

Steve
