Whitchallenger
« on: March 21, 2013, 08:17:26 PM »
I noticed on AIS in the early hours of this morning (21 march) that the Whitchallenger the usual solent bunkering vesel was off the coast of Aberdeen heading for Peterhead.

This vessel is usually seen working around the Southampton and Portsmouth areas so i was wondering if anyone knows if the vessel is on a charter and if it will be returning to Southampton at any time.

Tony,

She's done a number of coastal and short sea voyages recently. Either she's on an oil company timecharter or is being fixed on consecutive spot charters taking her out of her bunkering routines. I'll see what I can find out.

Brgds

'Whitchallenger' is a fairly regular to the Brittany Ferries berth at Milbay Docks in Plymouth for bunker duties.

Due to the seasonal decline in cruise ships in Southampton, Whitchallenger which is chartered to Esso has been cleaned to be used as white oil only. It is being used for White oils trips from Europe and Southampton to Scotland.
Whitonia and Jaynee W still remain on bunker duties in the Solent and surrounding areas.
Hope this helps

She's already back.
I photographed her coming into Esso on April 28th.

She has finished Aberdeen/Fawley trips for time being whilst the Cruise season is with us, but may switch back in the Autumn
